ROCK
THE NIGHT - Friday the 13th special
DEATH
BY STEREO
with
Dirty Words, Reincarnated and more!
June
13, Friday @ 8:00pm, $15 GA
Balancing
chaos and consciousness is no easy feat, and few bands will
ever do it as well as Death By Stereo has on the astonishing
new disc Death For Life. Brutal and brutally honest, the set's
eleven songs come swinging at you like a bag of bricks as
they embrace the extremities of hardcore and the fluid riffs
of metal.
"We fought it out and found out what we want to be,"
says vocalist Efrem Schulz. "We're still here, still
fighting, still pissed and not pulling any punches. And while
we may be into some pissed off music -- at the same time we
want to party. We also love Van Halen. So why not let out
all of this aggression and have a blast doing it? So many
people are so uptight about mixing the two ideas."
With that in mind, there is still no way to prepare for "Binge/Purge,"
a musical riot of a tune peppered with touches of melody and
the tenacious, expressive guitar lines of Death By Stereo's
Dan Palmer and Tito. "It's a song that deals with the
world and all the bull* that is constantly shoved down our
throats," says Schulz. "Everyone feeds off of this
violence, apathy and ignorance. We want to purge it all out."

Comedy Series by the beach Presents:
Almost
ten years after alighting in Hollywood, Jamie's acting
career starts to take off. His big break comes when he
is cast in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, and his career
takes off when he is cast as the articulately cynical
geek, Randy Meeks, in Wes Craven's Scream, which breaks
box office records, spawns a successful renewal of the
horror genre, and lands him a Blockbuster Best Supporting
Actor Award. Roles follow alongside Steve Martin in Bowfinger
and George Clooney in Three Kings. Through a slew of career
successes and setbacks, Jamie does what he knows best
— persevere. Five years later, The Jamie Kennedy
Experiment (JKX), a television show that can best be described
as a combination of Candid Camera and Saturday Night Live,
is born. JKX quickly becomes The WB's highest-ranking
new show, attracting three million viewers each week.
Jamie is currently producing two new series for The WB
airing in early 2005: reality-based The Starlet and the
comedy Living With Fran (starring Fran Drescher).
Read more about Jamie's crazy path to the movie biz in
his hilarious autobiography Wannabe: A Hollywood Experiment.
We'll even give you a peek inside the book: Sample 1 and
Sample 2. If you like what you read, head over to Amazon
to pick up your own copy!
Still not sure if it's worth a look? Check out this review
from a satisfied reader!
"Jamie Kennedy is a wonderful writer! If you are
not interested in laughing, then this book isn't for you.
Once you start reading his book you won't be able to put

WESTSIDE
STORY the musical
September
20, 21, & 27, 28
Saturday
@ 2:00pm & 8:00pm
Sunday
@ 2:00pm
Marking
its 50th anniversary in 2007, West Side Story is the classic
American musical of two rival youth gangs in New York City
(Jets and Sharks) whose battle for turf and superiority provides
the backdrop to an exploration of youth gangs, police relationships,
prejudice and the romance of two young people caught in a
violent cross-cultural struggle. The plot and main characters
of West Side Story are loosely based on Shakespeare's Romeo
and Juliet. The story has been modernized and Americanized
with the introduction of a racial theme - Tony, a member of
an established white gang (the Jets) falls in love with Maria,
whose brother is a member of the rival Puerto Rican gang (the
Sharks). The Jets are contemptuous of the Sharks and look
down on them as foreign newcomers. The Sharks wish to establish
themselves as Americans and defend their new territory. As
in Romeo and Juliet, the rivalry escalates and leads to great
tragedy. The electrifying music of Leonard Bernstein and the
prophetic lyrics of Stephen Sondheim hauntingly paint a picture
as relevant today as it was fifty years ago.
